LS travel retail opens its first UK airport Arrivals store at London Luton

UK. LS travel retail UK & Ireland has inaugurated the first Aelia Arrival shop in the UK at London Luton Airport. It marks the latest expansion of the retailer’s UK activities, weeks after establishing the first Lonely Planet store at Manchester Airport.

The 44sq m walk-through shop is located after the baggage reclaim hall and before the landside concourse at Luton Airport. It offers a selection of wine, Champagne, whisky, spirits, fragrances, skincare and confectionery, giving passengers arriving at London Luton Airport a last minute opportunity to pick up gifts or essentials.

Aelia Arrival Shop serves 100% of arriving passengers. Due to its location, the store is also used as a pick-up point for the airport’s ‘Collect on Return’ service, whereby passengers travelling within the UK and EU can purchase upon departure and collect upon their arrival into Luton.

LS travel retail UK & Ireland Managing Director Fin Casey said: “This opening has further enhanced the partnership with London Luton Airport and reflects our commitment to driving commercial performance. We’re delighted that we are now able to offer a choice of retail opportunities to passengers at every step of their journey, on departures with the Travel Galleria Tax and Duty Free and on arrivals with Aelia Arrival Shop. Our ‘Collect on Return’ service makes the shopping experience more convenient for our customers.”

London Luton Airport Commercial Director Rupert Lawrie added: “London Luton Airport is committed to expanding the retail offer at the airport, enhancing the passenger experience, and the provision of a tax free retail offer for arriving passengers is an integral part of the mix. The ‘Collect on Return’ service being launched from the new store provides a fantastic new service for departing passengers offering increased convenience and the flexibility to make the most of airport savings and the growing range of exciting retail opportunities.”
