A Philippine clothing brand retailer company aiming to be globally recognized as one of “the most admired Asian fashion brands company” is expanding its reach into the Middle East.
Penshoppe, a famous label for apparels in the Asian country, is planning to open six new stores in the United Arab Emirates. An expected fast-paced growth of network is likely to bring in six more in the UAE, totaling to 12 stores after five years.
Penshoppe will feature and sell in its boutiques their original designed ready-to-wear apparels and accessory lines.
“With new boutiques opening, we can now, not only provide more Filipinos with a taste of a home-grown brand, but introduce our stylish products to the international market as well,” president and CEO of Golden ABC, Inc. and Penshoppe owner Bernie H. Liu said in a press release.
Liu added that “the number of international Penshoppe boutiques has been growing exponentially and we couldn’t be more pleased with the reception of the brand in this part of the world.”
The franchise of Penshoppe in the UAE was awarded to KN Retail Inc., a subsidiary of KN Interior Design, LLC, one of the UAE’s fastest growing home and retail store and engineering construction companies.
Kanan Narayanan, managing director and owner of the firm, said that “Penshoppe is known for its fresh but sophisticated take on casual wear, high quality products and affordable prices. It is the Philippines’ leading casual fashion brand which can address the young UAE market’s fashion needs with its fresh trendy designs.”
The first UAE boutique will open on Oct. 15, 2012, at the Reef Mall in Deira, Dubai, while the second boutique is being pushed to open on December late this year in Karama while in 2013, four more stores are set to open in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and in other Middle East countries as Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan and Israel.
Besides the UAE, Penshoppe has also reached the retail market in Saudi Arabia, specifically in Jeddah, Riyadh, al-Jubail, al-Khobar and Dammam as well as the Bahraini capital, Manama, a Philippine newspaper reported.
The brand is also set to open two new stores in Jakarta, Indonesia, in December.
In 2018, Golden ABC, Inc. is also planning to bring in the brand to Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Yemen, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.
Penshoppe is also known to have famous international celebrities as its brand endorsers. Some of these are Gossip Girl lead actress Leighton Meester, Vampire Diaries lead actor Ian Somerhalder and Thai actor and model Mario Mauer.
Operating 600 stores across the Philippines and the Middle East, Golden ABC, Inc. provides job to 3,000 people, Filipino and foreign nationals alike.
